A matchup between two undefeated squads turned into a one-sided affair on Monday as the Cooperstown boys basketball team rolled past Hamilton 73-45 in front of a full house at the Bursey Gymnasium.
The Hawkeyes’ balanced offense was on display throughout: eight different players scored points and six made at least one of the team’s 12 three-pointers.
Miles Nelen led the way with 20 points and eight assists while Jackson Crisman scored 18 points, Christian Lawson netted 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals and Brody Murdock had eight points and eight rebounds.
Cooperstown (11-0) will visit West Canada Valley on Thursday.
Oneonta 75, Norwich 66 (Saturday)
Oneonta held off rival Norwich 75-66 for a key STAC win on Saturday.
Brady Carr hit six of the Yellowjackets’ 11 three-pointers for a team-high 28 points. Britten Zeh also had a big game with 21 points while Grayson Brockington scored 10 and Maddox Imperato and Matthew Rubin had eight points each.
Steven Dowdall scored a game-high 33 points for Norwich.
Oneonta (6-1) will host Windsor on Tuesday.

Gilboa/Roxbury defeated Cherry Valley-Springfield 56-49 in a non-league contest on Friday.
Jordan Johston and Cody Ciaravino each scored 14 points for G/R while Blake Albano and John DeWitt had 11 points apiece.
Kris Cade and Alex Rockwell were the top scorers for the Patriots with 10 points each.
Gilboa/Roxbury improves to 4-5 on the season. CV-S (4-3) will host Worcester on Tuesday.

WRESTLING
The Oneonta boys wrestling team competed in the Owego Riverhawk Tournament on Saturday.
Clayton Ritter (101 pounds) and Alan Little (152) were champions in their respective weight classes.
Placing second were Isaac Gray (145), Trey Jervis (152), Reilly Waltz (170) and Lucas Weaver (190). Marshall Mahar (108), Amari Champen (131) and Eli Daggy (285) each finished third, Wyatt Jones (152) was fifth and Jacob Mathewson (116) placed sixth.
The Yellowjackets will host Windsor on Wednesday for the STAC East division title.
The Oneonta girls were also in action over the weekend at the Southern Tier Memorial Girls Tournament in Elmira.
The Yellowjackets finished fourth overall out of 46 schools. Leylani Wiltshire was the champion of the 185-pound weight class while Payton Little (third), Maia Woertendyke (fifth), Grace Cohn (sixth) and Aniye-Jahy Cadeus (eighth) each had top-10 finishes.
