Cooperstown 89, Onondaga 47
Jackson Crisman scored a game-high 26 points and had 12 rebounds as top-seeded Cooperstown won a Section III Class C quarterfinal against No. 8 Onondaga on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
Cooperstown led at halftime, 47-17.
Miles Nelen scored 17 points for the Hawkeyes, which also got 12 points from Cooper Coleman, nine points from Brody Murdock, seven points from Christian Lawson and six points and 10 rebounds from Ty Burkhart.
Howard Wright IV scored 19 points to lead Onondaga (14-8), which also got 11 points from Jakari Hill.
Cooperstown (22-0) will play No. 4 seeded Dolgeville (18-3) in the semifinals on Monday, March 2, at SUNY Morrisville. The Blue Devils edged No. 5 Tully on Wednesday, 59-57.
Worcester 51, Hunter-Tannersville 19
Derek Land scored a game-high 16 points as No. 6 seeded Worcester topped No. 11 Hunter-Tannersville in the Section IV Class D playoffs Wednesday in Worcester.
“Our team defense smothered those young guys from H-T,” Coach Jim Kenyon said. “To their credit, they played hard until the final buzzer.”
Spencer Head scored 14 points and had five rebounds and three steals for the Wolverines, which also got 10 points and seven rebounds from Matt Sanders.
Donovan Garcia scored five points to lead Hunter-Tannersville (8-13).
Worcester (12-7) will play No. 3 South Kortright/Andes in the quarterfinals Saturday, Feb. 28, in South Kortright.
Unatego/Franklin 59, Tioga 51
Xander Johnson scored a game-high 29 points as No. 6 seeded Unatego/Franklin won a Section IV Class C playoff game against No. 11 Tioga on Wednesday in Otego.
Tioga led at halftime, 23-22, but U/F made a 21-7 third-quarter run to take control of the game.
Jackson Bombard scored 18 points to lead Tioga.
Jake Kingsbury scored nine points for the Spartan-Devils, which also got seven points from Joe Sargent and six points from Brock Birdsall.
Unatego/Franklin (16-5) will play at third-seeded Trumansburg in the quarterfinals Saturday.
Windham-Ashland-Jewett 64, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 58
Payton Dempsey scored a game-high 25 points as tenth-seeded Windham-Ashland-Jewett upset host G-MU, the No. 7 seed, in a Section IV Class D playoff game Wednesday.
The Raiders led after one quarter, 18-12, but W-A-J outscored G-MU in the second quarter, 16-6, and led after three quarters, 44-36.
Kyle Keuhn scored 21 points to lead G-MU, which also got 10 points from Jeffry Barnes and eight points from Koda Stockdale.
Owen Pellettier scored 19 points for W-A-J, which also got 16 points from Harrison Smith.
G-MU ends its season at 12-9.
Windham-Ashland-Jewett (9-11) will play at No. 2 seeded Edmeston in the quarterfinals Saturday.
