Candidates for Cumberland County offices will present their positions, biographies and reasons for seeking office during a forum Saturday, March 28.
The forum, presented by Conservative Americans for Tennessee will start at 3 p.m. at Fairfield Glade Library at 455 Lakeview Drive. Candidates will also be available to interact with voters after the forum.
The county primary will be May 5, with the early voting period from April 15-30.
Candidates on the county primary ballot are those seeking the offices of county mayor, sheriff, county commission, register of deeds, trustee, circuit court clerk, county clerk and road superintendent. Also on the ballot will be candidates for Board of Education seats in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th districts.
“Some citizens feel primary elections are unimportant, or at least not as important as the final election, but nothing could be further from the truth,” said Mary Kopmeier of Conservative Americans for Tennessee.
“If you are uncertain in which district you live, contact the Cumberland County Elections Commission at 931-484-4919 or visit in person at 83 Northside Lane, Suite 101, Crossville, TN,” Kopmeier said. “We hope to see you on March 28 to hear from and speak with your candidates.”
