BRENTWOOD — The 7th Annual outdoor Summer Concert Series at the First Baptist Church of Brentwood opens at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 22, with a performance by the well-known Seacoast Area group, the Funky Divas of Gospel.
The church is located at 201 North Road, the intersection of North Road and Route 125, one mile south of Route 101.
This will be the third appearance on the Brentwood stage for the Divas, who feature fine vocals and exceptional musicianship as they present a unique blend of up-to-date Gospel and traditional harmonies.
The concert is presented “rain or shi ne.”
In the unlikely event of inclement weather, the show will be moved inside.
Following the one-hour show, free refreshments are served, and there is opportunity to chat with the band.
Admission is free although they do “pass the hat” to offset a portion of the concert cost. Donations in any amount are welcome and appreciated.
The Concert Series will continue every other Saturday throughout the summer. The full schedule includes:
Jackie Lee, pop and folk, July 6.
The Reunion Hill Band, bluegrass, July 20.
The Sounds of the Seacoast, female a cappella barbershop, Aug. 3.
The Hot Skillet Club, featuring fiddler Ellen Carlson, Texas Swing, Aug. 17.
All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and are held outdoors under the big party tents, unless rain forces a move inside.
Admission is free and there’s plenty of parking and seating.
