ANDOVER — Andona’s Clown Town returned to Central Park for a weekend filled with tradition, entertainment and community.
The annual event celebrated its 70th year with family-friendly festivities scheduled over three days at the downtown park at the corner of Bartlet and Chestnut streets.
The Andona Society has hosted the community tradition, which serves as the charitable organization’s largest fundraiser to support local youth programs, scholarships and other community initiatives. Andona has raised more than $1 million to benefit Andover children and families since it was founded in 1952.
Families were able to enjoy carnival rides, kiddie games, facepainting, sand art and pony rides and eating classic carnival foods during the event. DJ Jacob Gordon and the Andover High School’s jazz band kept the crowd entertained on Friday night.
Clown Town continues Saturday and Sunday with various performances and demonstrations and a beer garden hosted by Oak & Iron Brewing Co. Saturday and a sensory-friendly hour, free family yoga, balloon twisting and a family magic show on Sunday.
