Hear about the basics of using a computer-controlled vinyl cutter and heat press during an upcoming class at Cumberland Business Incubator.
The class, from 9 a.m.-noon Sept. 4, will instruct participants on how to add their own graphic designs to items such as shirts, blankets and flags. It can be used for hobby work or to create designs for an existing or potential business.
Import vector (outline) designs from graphic software such as Inkscape into Sure Cuts A Lot, the software used to control the vinyl cutter. Then the CNC vinyl cutter can be used to cut an adhesive vinyl sheet into professional-looking signage or heat-transfer vinyl for heat-pressed materials.
The class is $30 and includes supplies. No prerequisites are required.
Participants are reminded that closed-toe shoes are required in the CBI Maker Space.
