VALDOSTA — As Memorial Day approaches, the City of Valdosta extends an invitation to participate in a meaningful act of remembrance and gratitude for the nation’s veterans. Join the City’s Public Works Department at Sunset Hill Cemetery on May 18 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for an event dedicated to cleaning headstones and preserving the legacies of those who served.
“Let us make this Memorial Day a poignant tribute to the brave men and women who have selflessly served our country,” the city said in issuing its invitation. “Your support is deeply appreciated, and together, we can honor their legacy in a profound and lasting manner. ”
Anyone who wishes to participate should show up promptly at 8 a.m. and should wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor work, including closed-toe shoes.
Organizers also hope you’ll spread the word and invite your friends to join you.
