PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh will soon be full of treats and maybe even a few tricks.
On Saturday, Oct. 28, from noon to 2 p.m., the City of Plattsburgh, in partnership with The Z Group Real Estate, will be hosting the fourth annual Downtown Trick or Treat event where participants can stop by over 30 downtown businesses for a treat.
By this time, the Margaret Street construction project will be substantially complete, with downtown roads and sidewalks being open accessible to eventgoers, the city announced.
This year’s downtown festivities will feature a Downtown Business Storefront decorating contest, with the winner chosen by the public, a dance performance by Center Stage Dance group, free face painting in Trinity Park and more surprises to come. Amanda Dagley from Electric Zee will also be set up in Trinity Park.
Participants do not have to follow a designated route around downtown but are asked to obey traffic laws and signals.
“We look forward to bringing back this beloved community event to Downtown Plattsburgh,” Zachary Latinville, owner of The Z Group Real Estate Company, said.
“This event shines a light on the amazing downtown businesses and organizations here in our downtown. With the construction project wrapping up, we are excited to welcome people to Downtown Plattsburgh!”
Local businesses and organizations that do not have a downtown storefront can participate in handing out treats in Trinity Park from noon to 2 p.m. as well. Costumes are not mandatory but highly encouraged.
The Downtown Trick or Treat and Trinity Park events are free and no registration is required.
