MANKATO — The city of Mankato has announced the traffic restrictions that will be in place during the Mankato Marathon Friday and Saturday.
Marathon events begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Kato Moving and Storage, 417 Poplar St., and continue at 7:20 a.m. Saturday at Minnesota State University. Temporary road closures and traffic delays will occur along race routes to help ensure the safety of runners and motorists, the city said in a news release.
The city shared the following delays:
Friday, Oct. 16
Road closures
2 to 8 p.m.: Poplar Street (from A Street to Sibley Parkway).
4:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Sibley Parkway (Rogers Street to Mound Avenue, through the park).
5:30 p.m. Friday to 3:30 p.m. Saturday: Warren St. — S. Front St. to 2nd St.
Expected traffic delays
5 to 7 p.m.: Sibley Parkway (Rogers Street to Mound Avenue, through the park).
Saturday, Oct. 17
Road closures
3 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: 2nd St. — Byron Ave. to Warren St.
S. Front St. — Liberty St. to Cherry St.
7 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Stoltzman Rd. — W. Pleasant St. to Van Brunt St.
Blue Earth St./W. Pleasant St. — Hubbard St. to Stoltzman Rd.
North side of Van Brunt St. — Stoltzman Rd. to Byron St.
7 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Hwy 1 — CR 9 to Hwy 90
7:00 to 9:00 a.m.: Intermittent closure/delays:
Monks Ave. — Stadium Rd. to Southbrook Cir./Copperfield Dr.
