Lockport’s M&T Bank at 118 Walnut St. is one of two area locations set to close soon, according to a company spokesperson.
The location at 1580 Hertel Ave. in Buffalo will also close.
Both sites will shut their doors on June 12.
“We regularly review our branch network to ensure our locations are best equipped to meet our customers’ evolving needs and banking habits,” said Thea Pecht, spokesperson for Upstate and Western New York, in a statement.
The employees at both locations have been offered positions at nearby locations or in other local bank operations. Customers are encouraged to go to nearby branches, with the 5737 S. Transit Road location in the Town of Lockport less than two miles away that will remain open.
Niagara County has a total of five M&T bank locations and three ATMs, most of them in Niagara Falls or the Town of Niagara.
