LANSING — Christopher Rogers will be the Grand Traverse County Public Administrator, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
He was sworn in on April 10 to discharge duties primarily related to intestate decedent estates where there are apparently no known heirs, including managing the determination, collection, liquidation, and/or distribution of any assets in the estate.
“Chris’ roots in the community and extensive professional experience make him an excellent choice to serve as a public administrator,” Attorney General Dana Nessel said in a press statement. “I am grateful for his commitment to Grand Traverse County and know he will serve residents well.”
Rogers, like many attorneys that serve in this capacity statewide, have private practice responsibilities that are separate and unrelated to their appointment. Rogers practices in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, real property and property tax law, and business law at Kuhn Rogers PLC, where he joined his father Terry in 2010.
Rogers, from Traverse City, graduated from the University of Michigan and the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. He is admitted to the Illinois State Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan and is a member of the Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association.
He also serves in leadership positions in several volunteer organizations in the area, including the Estate Planning Council of Grand Traverse Area.
