PLATTSBURGH — It lived up to the hype and gave a preview of what’s to come. It was everything you could ask for in a matchup of two of the top teams of the MVAC.
Chazy pulled out the first contest, defeating Seton Catholic, 40-31, Wednesday.
“It was a very hard fought game,” Knights coach Keagan Briggs said. “Chazy made the plays and the shows that it took to win.”
Once the Eagles took the lead in the second quarter, they didn’t give it up. They took a four point lead into the break, and steadily grew on it to reach the final score.
Emma Howell led Chazy with 13 points. Carly LaPierre carried the load inside with 10 points down low.
Seton Catholic’s Grace Trombley and Emma Langlois both had double digits in points with 11 and 10, respectively. Langlois made Seton’s only three pointer.
With the victory, Chazy improves to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the MVAC. Seton Catholic drops to 2-3 and 2-1 in the conference.
