MANKATO — The Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota received a $250,000 grant from the CenterPoint Energy Foundation to host a pollinator exhibit in June.
The Pollinators at Play’s grand opening will be June 12, according to a release.
It will include an expanded butterfly house and outdoor classroom, a butterfly nursery and a native prairie garden.
“Through hands-on, immersive experiences, children and families will explore the fascinating lifecycle of pollinators, gaining a deeper appreciation for their essential role in our ecosystem,” the release states.
A monitoring program will give children a chance to tag and release butterflies then track their migration journey. Another part of the grant will train staff on pollinator conservation.
