The Friends of the Tennessee State Library & Archives will host their annual virtual meeting featuring a presentation by Sarah Campbell Drury, vice president of fine and decorative arts at Case Auctions.
The meeting and presentation will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 30.
Drury’s talk, The Paper Chase: 20 Years of Book and Manuscript Discoveries, will highlight remarkable items the Tennessee-based auction house has uncovered, including rare books, manuscripts and historic documents with Southern significance.
“From books encrusted with jewels and signed by George Washington to an archive from the ship that fired the last shot of the Civil War, Case Auctions has unearthed extraordinary volumes and manuscripts in the most unexpected corners of Tennessee,” Drury said. “Each has a story as fascinating as the collectors who pursued them, and I look forward to sharing some of them with members of the Friends.”
A graduate of David Lipscomb University and the International Society of Appraisers appraisal studies program, Drury has been an accredited member of the ISA for nearly 20 years.
She has worked with museum, corporate and private clients nationwide and with PBS’s “Antiques Roadshow.” She has also written for The Magazine Antiques, Maine Antiques Digest, Silver Magazine and Antique Week.

The Friends of the Tennessee State Library & Archives, established in 2010, is a nonprofit organization created to support and enhance the mission of the Tennessee State Library & Archives.
Organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, the Friends work closely with the State Librarian and Archivist to promote activities that complement TSLA’s programs, raise public awareness, and encourage broad use of its facilities and collections.
The organization identifies and recruits volunteers for special projects, engages in fundraising to support acquisitions, publications, equipment, and other initiatives not covered in the state budget, and sponsors cultural and educational programs that showcase the depth and value of TSLA’s holdings.
Through these efforts, the Friends help ensure that Tennessee’s documentary heritage is preserved, accessible, and meaningful to citizens across the state.
