Carolyn Scott has been named executive director of the Christian Counseling Center of Cumberland County (C5), with responsibilities to include marketing, public relations, fundraising, business development and overall administration.
“Having Carolyn as our new executive director strengthens our leadership and provides an opportunity to build on C5’s existing foundation, while focusing on organizational stability, financial sustainability, outreach, and continued access to care,” said Donat Renaud, president of C5’s board of directors. “She brings extensive nonprofit leadership experience, and we are excited to have her on board.”
Scott served as pastoral counselor at Cumberland Plateau Baptist Association, as well as executive director of Christian Women’s Job Corps, Cumberland County Youth Center, and Plateau Pregnancy Services, all in Crossville. She was also executive director of Heart of the Cumberland grief center in Cookeville, TN.
Scott served as a court advocate for Avalon (previously Battered Women) in Crossville, and social services director at the Preserve (formerly Good Samaritan Society) in Fairfield Glade. With numerous certifications in various fields of counseling, Scott holds an associate degree from Roane State Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Cornerstone University.
She is the 2025 Ms. Senior Cumberland County and the reigning 2026 Fairest of the Fair Senior Queen for Bledsoe County.
“C5 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing professional, licensed counseling services to individuals and families throughout the Upper Cumberland area, regardless of their ability to pay,” Scott said. “C5 was established in 2002 through the support of local churches to ensure that quality mental health services are accessible to all members of the community. I am so excited to carry the torch and continue moving forward with this great mission,” Scott added.
Established in 2002, C5 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, interdenominational organization offering professional, licensed counseling services throughout the Upper Cumberland area.
The center serves children, adults, couples and families of all ages and backgrounds and maintains a comprehensive nondiscrimination policy. Guided by its mission of “Healing Hearts and Minds,” services are offered on a sliding fee scale based on ability to pay, with most insurance plans accepted.
