NORTH MANKATO — The North Mankato City Council unanimously approved a conditional use permit for a cannabis retail store at 300 Belgrade Avenue.
The proposed business, operated by Madeline Peck and Preston Perreault of Cornflower Blue Properties, previously received preliminary licensing approval from the Office of Cannabis Management.
City staff recommended the permit after confirming the location met zoning and buffer requirements, including distance from schools and daycares. The approval is contingent on state licensing compliance and adherence to city ordinances.
The council previously discussed concerns related to parking capacity, building suitability and potential neighborhood impacts. The store is required to operate within state-mandated hours and follow packaging and labeling regulations. If opened, it would be one of two permitted cannabis retailers in North Mankato.
