The Niagara Gazette will participate in a public forum featuring two candidates for public office on Tuesday in Lewiston.
The forum will feature Ed Lilly, a candidate for Lewiston town supervisor in the upcoming primary election, and Nate McMurray, the endorsed Democrat in this year’s race for the New York State Assembly’s 145th District, which includes Lewiston, Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda and part of Erie County.
The forum will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Lewiston Fire Company No. 1, 145 N. 6th St., Lewiston.
Incumbent Republican town Supervisor Steve Broderick, who is Lilly’s opponent in the primary race, declined the newspaper’s invitation to attend the forum, citing prior lawsuits filed by Lilly against the town and Lilly’s threats of legal action against him as a town official.
McMurray’s opponent in the state assembly race had a prior commitment and is unable to attend.
