Thanksgiving is a day we set aside to celebrate and give thanks for all of the blessings we have received during the year. The traditional celebration consists of fellowship with family members and friends, partaking in all of the festivities of the occasion.
As we take time to reflect on the Thanksgiving season, we are no doubt reminded of the richness of God’s blessings. He is such a good, generous God who is the ultimate source of all that we are and all that we have been given and, because of his character, kindness and compassion, he gives us far more than we realize or even give him credit for, as we sometimes take for granted the life, joy and peace that he so abundantly gives.
Even though we have our times of trials and difficulty, we are still blessed beyond measure with the knowledge and assurance that he is with us through them all, arranging and working everything according to his will and purpose. As we take time to give him thanks for his work in our lives, we come to realize and truly appreciate the bountiful, abundant blessings he so graciously bestows upon us.
Not only has God blessed us beyond measure, his everlasting love and faithfulness sustains and carries us through every circumstance of life. Because he is our caring, compassionate friend and companion, we can be sure that he will never leave or forsake us. As we reflect on the countless times he comes through for us and carries us through our difficulties and time of need, it is then that we see his faithful hand touching our lives, showering us with his strength to keep going, all the while reassuring us that he is always by our side.
God is indeed out faithful Father who promises to carry each of his children through all of the difficulties and circumstances of life, and as we give him the thanks he so greatly deserves, we are humbled and reminded of the true nature of his character. We all have so many things to be thankful for, especially the blessings, love and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.
Everyday should be a day of thanksgiving, as we give him thanks for who he is and for all he has done and continues to do in our lives. And by setting aside this time to ponder and reflect on all he has done for us, we are renewed with ongoing gratitude and thanksgiving that can be a regular part of our daily lives.
I want to wish everyone a healthy, happy Thanksgiving. May your life overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all God has blessed you with and carries you through and may you enjoy the everlasting love and faithfulness that your gracious Heavenly Father has in store just for you.
