Cam Devanney is going to The Show.
And man was it earned.
The former Central Catholic star was called up by the Kansas City Royals on today to be there for tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Kansas City, Mo.
Devanney, a shortstop, was hitting .272 with 18 homers and 55 RBI for the AAA Omaha Storm Chasers. He ranked third in homers and tied for fourth in RBI in the International League.
Devanney, of Amherst, N.H., was a three-time Eagle-Tribune All-Star out of Central Catholic and then starred at Elon (N.C.) University where he hit .335 with 10 homers and 52 RBI before being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Devanney, 28, was traded to the Royals in December of 2023, where he spent the season and a half with the Storm Chasers.
He also played for Team USA last off-season.
