LOCKPORT — A Buffalo man will face up to life in prison after his guilty plea Monday morning to a grand jury indictment that had charged him in connection with a domestic-related homicide in the Falls.
Keith William Hill, 32, entered his plea to all the counts in the indictment, including second-degree murder, aggravated criminal contempt and second-degree criminal contempt in the death of Tania Wilson. He originally pleaded not guilty to those charges and was being held without bail.
Niagara County Court Judge Caroline Wojtaszek told Hill she would cap his possible prison sentence at 23 years to life.
Falls police patrol officers said they found Wilson’s body inside her home on the 2400 block of Orleans Avenue, at about 11 p.m. March 31, 2024, after they were called for a report of a possible domestic violence incident there.
When officers arrived at the home, they said they found four children, ranging in age from early teens to toddlers, along with the body of Wilson. Investigators said Wilson, who was pronounced dead at the scene, had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Wilson was the children’s mother and they are now being cared for by family members.
Falls Police Criminal Investigation Division detectives said their work on the homicide had uncovered at least one prior domestic incident involving Hill and Wilson and a previous weapon possession conviction for Hill.
At the time of his arrest, on April 4, 2024, Hill was also charged on an outstanding domestic violence arrest warrant. The warrant charged Hill with a single count of second-degree criminal contempt for apparently violating an order of protection issued by a Pennsylvania court.
That order of protection had barred Hill from having any contact with Wilson. The order of protection was reportedly issued after a domestic incident between Hill and Wilson in February 2024. That charge remains pending in Pennsylvania.
Prosecutors said Hill’s previous weapon possession conviction stems from a Jan. 3, 2021 arrest on the 1700 block of Ashland Avenue.
