Alaina Brown had a grand slam as host Oneonta beat Chenango Forks, 13-1, in six innings in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference non-division game Monday, April 27.
Brown went 2-for-3 with five RBI and a run scored. She cleared the bases with a shot to the fence in left field as part of a seven-run third inning.
Jenevie Gallusser struck out 11 batters in a two hitter to get the win. She walked three and gave up one earned run in the third inning when Anna Ginalski had an RBI single.
Kylie Carr went 4-for-5 for the Yellowjackets, with four RBI and a run scored. Logan Jipson went 2-for-3 with an RBI, two stolen bases and three runs scored.
Oneonta had 13 hits total and was helped by three errors by Forks.
Sierra Entwistle took the loss for Forks, walking eight, striking out one and giving up six runs on four hits in 3.2 innings.
Oneonta (10-2, 3-1) will host East Division leader Susquehanna Valley for a game Wednesday, April 29. SV beat the Yellowjackets, 14-3, in the season opener on March 24.
