SALEM — Emergency response protocols were put in place at Salem State University on Thursday after the discovery of an undetonated blasting cap that was discovered at the Meier Hall construction site during blasting work.
According to the university, a crew from Maine Drilling and Blasting were called out to support the situation as part of the traditional emergency response.
The crew was able to clear the scene as the situation was stable and there were no ongoing safety concerns.
The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was also on scene to assist.
