POTSDAM — If you were a fan of Bolton, it wasn’t a pretty game to watch offensively.
The Eagles scored well below their season average as they fell to Harrisville, 53-38 in a boys NYSPHSAA Class D sub regional, Wednesday.
Bolton came out of the gates with some steam as they only trailed the Pirates by five, 27-22 at the break.
They just couldn’t get going in the second half to close the game, as it widened as the game went on. The Eagles tried but were just cold from the floor in every phase of the game.
“Bolton ran into a buzz saw in Harrisville,” Bolton head coach Cody Kober said. “Maybe it was the 3 hour bus ride or maybe it was their tough defense, but Bolton scored well below their season average.
“Aiden Chartrand for Harrisville was tough to contain and carried their offense.”
Chartrand was one of three Harrisville players to record double digits. He and Joe Shepherd finished with 14 as Liam Winters added 12.
As Bolton’s come to an end, they finish with an impressive 21-3 overall record and 12-0 in the MVAC.
There was one bright spot as Jace Hubert recorded his 1,000 point on his first basket of the game. He led the Eagles with 12 points as Will Hens added 10.
Bolton started hot, but ran out of steam in the second half.
Jace Hubert did score his 1,000 on his first basket of the game.
