The Cumberland County Board of Education scheduled five budget meetings in order to go through the 2025-’26 budget line by line.
Director of Schools William Stepp presented potential budget options to the board pending the Cumberland County Commission passing a potential policy that would increase the required minimum fund balance total from 3% to 17%.
Board members were asked to do research on the fiscal year 2025-2026 budget and send any questions to Stepp in preparation for the upcoming meetings.
All the meetings will be at 4 p.m. The dates are April 1, 3, 8, 10 and 15. The meeting dates are subject to change. No agendas have been set yet.
The Cumberland County Board of Education meets in the Central Services building at 368 Fourth St. in Crossville.
