LONDONDERRY — The 9th Annual Blues Festival is coming to Londonderry on Aug. 26 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Londonderry Town Common, corner of Pillsbury and Mammoth Road.
The festival is free and open to the public and features the Rik-Sha Blues Band at noon, the Kan-Tu Blues Band at 1:15 p.m. and Dr. Harp’s Blues Revue Band at 2:30 p.m.
In addition to fabulous music, this family friendly event includes a 50/50 raffle, local vendors and crafters, food, and lots of fun.
All proceeds from the raffle and vendors will benefit the Combat Vets Associations. The Combat Vets Associations provides assistance to individual veterans, veteran care facilities and other veteran organizations and registered charities throughout New England.
Waste collection for several towns
CHESTER — Residents of Chester and five neighboring communities will have an opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste during a collection event on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The 2026 Chester Municipal Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Chester Transfer Station, 50 Dump Road.
The event is open to residents of Atkinson, Chester, Danville, Hampstead, Kingston and Plaistow. Participants must provide proof of residency.
Households may dispose of up to 10 gallons, or the equivalent, of accepted hazardous waste.
Accepted items include: Household cleaners, disinfectants and aerosol cans; batteries; oil-based paints, paint thinner, paint stripper and varnish; and gasoline, antifreeze, brake fluid and other automotive fluids.
Also, herbicides, fungicides, chemical fertilizers and rat poison; pool chemicals, photographic chemicals and fluorescent bulbs; and fiberglass epoxy and artist’s paints.
The collection is intended to provide residents with a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of hazardous household materials that should not be placed in regular trash.

New hours for town clerk
DERRY — The Town of Derry has announced new office hours for the Town Clerk and Tax Collector, effective July 6.
The new hours are:
Monday: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tuesday: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to plan their visits according to the updated schedule.
Bereavement support group
EXETER — Beth Israel Lahey Health at Home Hospice is offering two adult bereavement support groups this fall for individuals coping with the loss of a loved one. Both programs are open to families of Beth Israel Lahey Health at Home Hospice clients and members of the community.
The General Loss Group is a six-week interactive program that includes guided activities and assignments to help participants work through the grieving process. The group will meet Sept. 16 through Oct. 28.
A second six-week program, “Grieving Us: A Field Guide for Living with Loss,” will be held Sept. 22 through Oct. 27. The group focuses on practical, day-to-day approaches for navigating grief.
Additional bereavement workshops are offered throughout the year on topics including coping with grief during the holidays, grief and mindfulness, and Grief 101.
Advance registration is required for all groups and workshops.
