NIAGARA COUNTY
• ARREST: A man was arrested at 11:07 a.m. Sept. 25 following a shoplifting incident at a store on South Transit Road in the Town of Lockport. The man, whose age and address were not disclosed, is charged with attempted grand larceny and burglary. He is accused of attempting to steal merchandise valued at more than $1,800.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary on the 4100 block of Mapleton Road in Pendleton. The male victim told Niagara County Sheriff’s Office deputies that his deceased father’s motorcycle, tools and family photos were stolen on Sept. 26.
• ARREST: A man was arrested after a traffic stop on Shimer Drive in the Town of Lockport. The man, whose age and address were not disclosed, is charged with unlawful fleeing of a police officer and speeding. He is accused of fleeing police at speeds of more than 60 miles-per-hour in a 30 mile-per-hour zone on Locust Street.
• FRAUD: Police are investigating a case of fraud where the victim was asked to buy $5,000 in gift cards. The female victim old Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that she had bought the gift cards as instructed. She has since contacted her financial institutions after making a report with the sheriff’s office.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary at the 2600 block of Lockport-Youngstown Road, Ransomville. The male victim told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that he found his garage door open with about $800 in items missing. He was advised to place cameras around the property. There is no suspect information at this time.
