Retired nurse Mary Ellen Meara takes a reading of Danny Marola’s blood pressure Thursday, April 18, at Fairfield Glade Resident Services’ first blood pressure clinic.
Held at Village Green Mall, the free clinics are planned for each Thursday year-round 10 a.m.-noon at the mall, providing one way for residents to monitor their health.
In the background, another retired nurse, Janet Pitrosky, reviews Marti Knieriem’s results with her. Two other volunteer retired nurses, Janna Anderson and Susan Maruska, also administered blood pressure checks.
A blood pressure check was especially convenient for Marola because he works at the post office at the mall.
