CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Jackson Miller scored four goals, David DiNola one, and Ofek Cohen-Inbar had two assists as Bishop Walsh beat Cumberland Valley, 5-2, in Chambersburg on Thursday.
Miller started the scoring for the Spartans (1-1) at 19:10 of the first half off of a corner kick by Carson Hamelin. DiNola then scored at 15:30 on a penalty kick.
Landon Kellogg scored for CVCS on an unassisted goal at 11:15 to complete the scoring in the first half.
Miller scored early in the second half at 36:06 on an assist by Cohen-Inbar. Turner Egolf answered for CVCS on an assist by Kellogg at 33:40. Miller scored the last two goals of the game at 26:30 and 2:10 on assists by Cohen-Inbar and Michael Caporale.
JJ Pascuta had eight saves in goal for Walsh on 10 shots on goal. Quinten Cooper had three saves for
CVCS on eight shots on goal. CVCS led in corner kicks, five to four.
The Spartans host Keyser on Saturday at 10 a.m.

PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Liam Orndorff, Everett Smith and Cohen Hartman scored two goals apiece in a rout of Petersburg Thursday.
Hayden Whetsel also scored for the Falcons (4-0), and Noah Weaver, Whetsel and Orndorff had one assist each. Weaver also had two saves in goal.
Frankfort hosts Calvary (5-0) on Thursday at 5 p.m.
