Bishop Walsh’s admission to the Mason-Dixon Christian Conference was officially approved Thursday, beginning with the spring 2026 sports season.
The Spartans have been a probationary member of the MDCC since the fall, competing in boys soccer, volleyball and boys and girls basketball against current MDCC schools.
Bishop Walsh’s admittance was pending a vote by the league’s member schools.
“Following careful review and discussion, the MDCC member schools expressed strong support for Bishop Walsh School’s inclusion in the conference,” said MDCC President Zack Morgan, who is also the athletic director of Grace Academy in Hagerstown.
“We believe Bishop Walsh School’s commitment to athletic excellence, sportsmanship and Christ-centered values aligns well with the mission and standards of the MDCC.”
The league includes Calvary, Broadfording, Cumberland Valley, Faith, Grace, Heritage, New Life and Shalom.
“We are confident that Bishop Walsh School will be a positive addition to the conference and look forward to the competition, fellowship and collaboration that will come with your participation beginning this spring,” Morgan said.
