MANKATO — Greater Mankato Growth’s former executive director has been named deputy director of the Region Nine Development Commission.
Jessica Beyer began her position Monday, a Region Nine spokesman said.
In her role as deputy director, Beyer facilitates public engagement, secures funding through grant writing, and conducts project and program design and implementation.
Several months ago, Beyer stepped down from her GMC position, where she oversaw Visit Mankato, City Center Partnership and GreenSeam.
Beyer previously served in Blue Earth County and Waseca County government positions. She has more than 20 years of leadership experience that includes nonprofit leadership, government administration, community development, marketing/communications and sales.
“I’m excited to join the RNDC team and further the organization’s work in leveraging regional resources, fostering collaboration and supporting progress across the nine-county region. This role will allow me to carry forward my passion for serving our area communities and to utilize my unique background in local government, economic development, business support, and community engagement,” Beyer stated in a press release.
RNDC is an agency serving nine counties that promotes development through intergovernmental and community cooperation. Its offices are in Mankato Place.
