ANDOVER — Beautiful, warm weather brought out the crowds Wednesday evening for the Andover Recreation and Community Service’s second Summer Kick-Off Beach Party at Pomps Pond.
The event featured a chance to enjoy the cooling waters of Pomps Pond while promoting a good time, family fun and possibly convince residents to pony up for a season pass.
A free concert by Coffee to Cocktails with a genre-spanning setlist of country, folk, rock, bluegrass and pop served as the two-hour party’s sound track.
Featured were free 30-minute rentals of canoes, kayaks and even stand up paddleboards (SUPs), free child watch courtesy of the Beach Buddies staff, a bounce house, arts and crafts and complimentary hot dogs, courtesy of Andover Rec.
In addition to ice cream, candy and snacks for purchase through the Snack Bar, the party included dinners served up by Augusta’s Chicken on the Road food truck and beverages for purchase through Oak & Iron and Marble Ridge Winery.
