Two Methuen born and bred pro baseball stars, Dom Keegan and Jacob Wallace will be hosting clinic, three sessions in all, on Sunday.
Keegan, of the Tampa Bay Rays, will be involved in the hitting and catching, while Wallace, of the Kansas City Royals, will handle the pitching.
Both were recent participants in the prestigious Arizona Fall League.
Yankees scout Matt Hyde will also be part of the clinics for hitting and pitching.
Session 1 will be hitting (baseball and softball) with Keegan and Hyde from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. for those ages 9 to 18, limited to 15 hitters. The cost is $75.
Session 2 will be pitching (baseball) and catching (baseball and softball) from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m., ages 9 to 18, limited to 15 pitchers. The cost is $50.
Session 3 will be hitting (baseball and softball) from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., ages 9 to 18, limited to 15 hitters. Cost is $75.
Note that players will be separated by age.
For those that sign up for 2 sessions “(1 and 2 or 2 and 3), the combined cost is a reduced $110.
Dave Bettercourt is overseeing the clinics.
“We need to do these clinics now while these coaches and players are available,” said Bettencourt. “This is a great group of instructors. They’re all experienced in helping young people. We’re excited to have them at Batter Up.”
