BEEKMANTOWN — Ashley Barnes led the way with a home run and two singles as Beekmantown recorded a 9-6 victory over Chazy on Thursday in non-league softball action.
Anna Dutil and Lindsay Barnes added two hits each in support of winning pitcher Laci LaPier. LaPier struck out five and walked six.
Losing pitcher Sam Gonyo, who struck out eight and walked seven, had a triple and single for Chazy, while Kassidy Turek added two singles.
“Tonight we celebrated our five seniors — Lindsay Barnes, Anna Dutil, Laci LaPier, Kennedy Ritter and Janna Ruest,” Beekmantown coach Michele Barnes said. “Ruest accounted for three RBI.
“It was a very even game and Sam Gonyo pitched well for them. Wynter Jarus did a nice job at shortstop and Kassidy Turek did well behind the plate. They are a very well-coached team and don’t make a lot of mistakes.”
