MANKATO — A man’s felony charge for making threats with an ax will be reduced to a misdemeanor if he successfully completes probation.
Joseph Lee Marlin, 42, of Mankato, was convicted on the threats of violence charge Monday in Blue Earth County District Court.
Marlin was charged after a woman told police he threatened her while swinging the ax toward her on Jan. 24, 2024. He initially denied doing so.
A sentencing order shows Marlin had second-degree assault, fifth-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct and domestic assault charges dismissed.
He received credit for 37 days served in jail. His supervised probation term will last three years, during which time he cannot have any contact with the victim.
