CHAMPLAIN — AuSable Valley plated five runs in each of the third and fourth innings Thursday to record a 10-7 win over Northeastern Clinton in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball.
Ava Doyle went the distance for the pitching win, and Kaylee Axtell accounted for two of the five Patriots’ hits.
Emma Guay led the Cougars with three hits, while Ava Miller, Lily Natashak, Lexi Roberts and losing pitcher Tess Dumas all chipped in with two each with Miller doubling.
“Both teams had trouble fielding the ball with a combined 11 errors,” NCCS coach Carrie McComb said. “AuSable Valley was able to take advantage of our back-to-back errors, resulting in runs in the third and fourth innings.
“We had a tough week playing three games in a row against all tough opponents. We will learn from this week, put it behind us and move on, ready for the rest of the season.”

SARANAC — The Spartans jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the first inning, but the Sentinels were able to rally and get the win.
Isabelle Burroughs led Ticonderoga offensively with four hits while Lillian Davis and Avery Lender each added three. Addison Munson chipped in with two.
Kailynn Neri paced Saranac with three hits. Irelyn Ryan and McKenzie Hanson contributed two hits apiece.
Winning pitcher Clara Mitchell and losing hurler Ryan each struck out eight.
“It was a good game with both teams hitting the ball hard and runners on,” Saranac coach Sam Campbell said. “Ticonderoga made a couple of big defensive plays at times that could have led to Saranac runs.
“I felt at times today, we played the best we have yet to date, especially at the plate. Now, we have to get consistent.”

BEEKMANTOWN — Ashley Barnes led the way with three hits, while Lilly Perry and Adelaide Burnham added two each for the Eagles.
Keelyn St. Clair pitched four innings to get the win, allowing four hits, no walks and striking out four.
Emii Colby accounted for two of the Red Storm’s four hits.
“Keelyn St. Clair got her first varsity win on the mound, throwing four very strong innings,” Beekmantown coach Michele Barnes said. “Lilly Perry and Addi Jewell both threw well in relief.
“We need to clean up the errors as the season moves forward. We did have some nice defensive plays by Ashley Barnes and Mia Perez. Saranac Lake’s catcher Kasey Clark had a great game for them.”

Kara Kretser added a two-run double and Olivia Lathrop a double. Winning pitcher Halle Burdo struck out 12 and allowed two hits in going five innings.
Alyssa Courtright and Gianna Vargo had the lone hits for the Vikings.

BOLTON — Maelyn Hubert and Thea Kennedy each had four hits in leading Bolton to its win.
Carly Smith added three hits, while Riley Huck, Jadynn Egloff, Danica Staepel and Sydney Hart rapped out two each. Huck drove in three runs, and Hubert scored four runs.
Winning pitcher Egloff with five and reliever Kennedy with two combined for seven strikeouts in the contest.
