Softball
Windham 6, Pinkerton 1
On the final day of the regular season, two of the region’s top clubs collided in Derry.
And this one was all about Jaguar pitcher Claire Ballard. The senior struck out six in a six hitter as both teams finish with 15-3 marks.
Kelly Wright and Ari DeCotis (2 RBIs) had two-hit games for Windham. Marin Hollingshead, Kate Ballard and Ava Runde had big hits in the late innings.
Abby Carvalho had a hit and an RBI for the Astros. Cara Murray had two hits.
The teams would love a rematch for sure. That would likely come in the Division I state semis if both can survive until then.
Baseball
Merrimack 7, Salem 6
The Blue Devils put together a fierce rally in the bottom of the seventh, scoring three times, but just couldn’t overcome their earlier defensive woes (six errors).
Ivan Colon (two RBIs) and Elias Mercedes paced the 10-hit Salem attack with two apiece.
Salem closes out the regular season at 9-9 and heads to a likely road opener in the upcoming Division I playoffs.
Girls Lacrosse
