Methuen/Tewksbury 4, Shrewsbury 0
The Red Rangers (16-0-2) scored all four goals in a four minute span of the second period, to not only win the game but capture the program’s second straight MVC/DCL Division 1 title.
Sophia Barbosa, Sammy Ryan, Sarah Marano and Ella Duffy scored the goals with assists going to Annalise Blais, Barbosa and Maeve Burns. Goalie Lydia Barnes made 29 saves to record her 12th shutout of the season.
HPNA 4, Andover 2
Charlotte Woodford scored three goals, and Mia Kmiec dished out three assists to lead HPNA to the victory. Taylor Bierschied had a goal and an assist and Kammie Locke also had a helper.
Boys Hockey
Bedford 4, Windham 3
Bedford came away with the overtime victory. Sam Kramer scored two goals and Blake Paquette had the other for the Jaguars.
Concord 5, Salem 2
Gavin Doughty scored both goals for the Blue Devils and Cam Chase and Hunter Thompson had one assist each.
Concord-Carlisle 4, North Andover 2
For the Scarlet Knights, Aiden Schwartz and Zach Steely scored single goals and Matt Donovan and Josh Kuberski each recorded an assist.
Bedford 4, Haverhill 3
Bedford was able to get the game winning goal in overtime to defeat the Hillies. Matt Costa led the offense with a goal and an assist. Tim Rosenthal and Brady Bonnell (first varsity) scored the other goals.
Nolan Sheehan picked up a pair of helpers and Rocco Belfiore, Peter Grillo
and Bobby Caron had one each. Anthony Pizzamenti played very well in net stopping 34 of 38 shots.
Methuen 6, Somerville 1
Six different players found the back of the net to lead the Rangers to the non-league win. Colin Comeau, Elliot Perry, Josh Herald, Zach Herland, Jackson LaPlante and Johnathan Mueskes scored one each, while Herald picked up an assist and Mike Yirrell chipped in with two.
Elias Nakhoul made 11 saves to earn the win.
Boys Basketball
Timberlane 59, Sanborn 50
Matt Fitzgerald led the way with 18 points. Cam Stevens and Thayer Sherman were also in double figures with 11 each to lead the Owls.
Lynn Tech 84, Whittier Tech 63
Stephen Artemis had an incredible night scoring 34 points for the Wildcats, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough for the Wildcats.
