Kal-El Ferreira had the Ranger goal in their season opener. Matthew Mrabu had nine saves in net to preserve the stalemate.
Salem 2, Alvirne 2
Kingston Freitas netted both Blue Devils’ goals with assists to Owen LaGrasse and Quentin DeLorey. Elias Mercedes made 10 saves in net to keep things all even. Levi Leite, Liam Hevehan, and Gavin Chandler made key contributions in securing the hard-fought tie.
Windham 3, Nashua North 2
Ben Freni and Noah Bustamante scored late goals to power the Jaguars to their second win in three days. Jack Steffanides also had a goal, while Michael Tomassi (2) and Ricky Barker had assists.
Girls Soccer
Salem 3, Alvirne 1
The Salem girls picked up their first win of the year as Aaliyah Hajjar broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of late goals. Presley Marinelli had the other Salem goal with Abby Jose assisting.
Pinkerton 3, Goffstown 3
Courtney Russell had a pair of goals, and Cali Lockwood also found the net for the Astros. Cami McNulty and Cara Mahn had Pinkerton assists. Sydney Mlynarski had four saves in the Astro goal.
Gr. Lowell 6, Whittier Tech 1
Kamryn Eaton had the lone Whittier goal, while Meredith MacIver was busy, making 28 saves in net for the 0-2 Wildcats.
Dover 2, Timberlane 0
Bella Johnson made 10 saves, but the Owls fell to 2-1 with the loss.
Nashua North 2, Windham 0
Harley Neal made six saves in the loss. “We had a couple of bright spots. Iida Sehulster, Ally Wolyn, Harley Neal and Kaylan Martin played very well,” said coach George Fortin.
Central Catholic 2, Lincoln-Sudbury 0
Sarah Parker made five saves for the shutout as Central moves to 1-1 in the early going. Lucy Irwin and Sarah Tressler netted the goals, while Chloe Fourtzialas and Abby Bilodeau pitched in assists.

Andover 18, Tewksbury 2
Lucas Jenney, James Dunham Vincent Giaimo, Griffin Murray, Rob Linehan and Kathryn Ventura scored match wins for the Warriors at Indian Ridge CC. Jenney shot 35 to earn medalist honors at one-under par.
BC High 245, Central Catholic 248
The Raiders fall to 1-1 on the year, in spite of nice rounds from Andrew Bolton (38) and Harry Garland (40) on the par-36 Atkinson CC course.
Volleyball
Central Catholic 3, Pentucket 0
The 2-0 Raiders got 14 Julie Hall kills and 24 assists from Madison Blanchet in the victory. Hall served 10 points with seven aces. Alexa Faria had 15 digs and Sydney Faria pitched in 17 service points.
Greater Lawrence Tech 3, Innovation 0
Mia Reynoso served 20 points and dished out six assists for the 2-0 Reggies. Maria Rosario (6 aces, 7 digs) and Trinity Figueroa (6 kills) also had strong performances.
Salem 3, Spaulding 1
Mia Contarino was all over the floor in the Blue Devils’ opening-night win with seven kills, a pair of aces and 15 digs. Riley Blanchet added four kills, 23 assists, five digs and 10 aces. Hannah Woodring (15 digs) and Michaela Dailey (10 kills, 3 aces) also delivered big time for Salem.
Greater Lowell 3, Whittier Tech 2
Katreina Green (3 kills, 3 aces), Kellisha Gilbert (3 kills, 4 blocks), Natalia Solano, Noell Santos and Kelly Vigneaux all played well in the Wildcats’ season opener.
Field Hockey
Timberlane 5, Nashua South 1
Rylee O’Connor scored a pair of goals, and both Aubrey Fitzgerald and Taylor Alperin each added a goal and an assist in the victory. Aria Loboa had the other Timberlane goal, while Austin Sydney Peters made three saves in net.
Keene 4, Pinkerton 2
Fran Doyle had a goal and an assist, while Cayden Madeiros also scored for the Astros. Brynn McKenna played a strong overall game for Pinkerton, while Molly Kuncik made 16 saves in nt.
Cross Country
Windham competed in the Jamie Martin Cross Country Classic at Sanborn Regional on Wednesday. Blake Hollingshead was third overall in the boys race. Four Jaguars placed in the top 20 to win the girls race. Hazel Perks was eighth overall, while freshmen Devyn Viens, Katelynne Fox and Atia Mutai rounded out the strong performance.
