SAILING
Gloucester goes 3-1: The Fishermen had a busy weekend, with three matches on Saturday in Boston Harbor and one grueling Mother’s Day all-day event in Sharon against some talented programs. Gloucester ultimately came up 3-1 over the two days, bringing its record to 11-1-1 to conclude the regular season. The Mass Bay League playoffs begin Sunday in Boston Harbor.
The Mother’s Day event saw superstar AJ Lewis skippering his boat over 22 other team’s boats, including the top Div. 1 schools in the league, with his crew Emily Bean. Gloucester ended their regular season winners of Div. 2 in the Mass Bay League standings which also qualifies them for the top slot in the tournament that begins on Sunday. All 13 contests this spring were on the road at different venues.
