Greater Lawrence Tech 34, Fairhaven 29 (OT)
In a Division 3 Round of 32 battle, the 12th-seeded Reggies were all out to move on.
“We went from six games in nine days, clicking on all cylinders to having seven days off. Those seven days off just killed us. It took the kids off their rhythm,” said Tech coach Stevie Martinez. “Finally, you sit and realize, it’s all about survive and advance.”
And that’s what his team did.
Freshman Carlos Quezada stepped up big on the backboards and saved the Tech season with an offensive-rebound putback hoop at the fourth-quarter buzzer to send the game to overtime.
In the extra session, Albert Diaz hit a three to give Greater Lawrence the lead for good at 32-29.
Bridgewater-Raynham 63, Lawrence 41
The Lancers’ return to the tourney ends with a Round of 32 loss on the road.
All-conference forward Aiden Torres closed out his career with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists. Lenin Diaz added 10 points.
Girls Hockey
Methuen/Tewksbury 4, Woburn 1
The Red Rangers moved into the Division 1 state quarterfinals behind an 18-save performance by Lydia Barnes on Saturday.
Sammy Ryan led the winners with a goal and a pair of assists, while Ella Duffy delivered a goal and an assist. Sarah Marano and Maeve Burns added goals in the win, with the latter netting her first ever for the Red Rangers.

Old Rochester 55, Whittier Tech 33
The Wildcats found the going tough on the road in the Division 3 Round of 32 at No. 10 Old Rochester. The Commonwealth Conference champs finish up at 17-4.
Off to a slow start, the Cats cut the lead back to eight in the second half but could get no closer. Seniors Nevaeha Wilkins and Vanessa Lawrence Taylor played strong games up front with huge rebounding nights. Yaki and Yami Ortiz paced the offense.
“We’re a young team, but we fought hard,” said coach Kevin Bradley. “We will lose two wonderful seniors, but the future looks bright.”
Pelham 62, Oyster River 26
The Pythons closed out the regular season at 14-4 with the big Senior Night win. Grace Riley had 19 to lead the winners, while Jessie Phillips tossed in 13 points and Sophia Guinazzo added 11. Freshman point guard Harlow Barron led the bench scoring with seven. Next up a D-II playoff opener at home on Wednesday night.
