Salem battled wild weather, including heavy rain and strong winds, to play Merrimack to the draw. Blue Devils senior captain Jack Schafer set the tone early, netting both of Salem’s first-half goals to give his squad a 2-1 lead heading into the break. Merrimack responded in the second half and managed to pull ahead 3-2. But with less than five minutes remaining, Kingston Freitas delivered under pressure, calmly burying a penalty kick to secure the equalizer.
Goalkeeper Elias Mercedes was outstanding, recording 20 saves to keep Salem in the match.

Windham places third
Behind Thomas Manning’s 37, just off medalist honors (36), Windham placed third (211) in a quad-meet with Hanover (191), Concord (200) and Nashua North (218). Seth Collins and Sam Kramer each added a 42 for the Jaguars.

Morgann Raskow delivered an impressive debut in net for the Blue Devils with eight saves. Also standing out for Salem were Presley Marinelli, Maeve Shpak and Makayla Burns.

Methuen’s Oriol Jean scored the game-winner with 30 seconds remaining in the contest on a perfectly-placed cross from Christian Colem, that beat the Vikings keeper to his right.
The Knights, No. 10 in the NJCAA pre-season poll, opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a goal from Ilembo Kiza, with an assist credited to Maxim Chriss. After Westchester tied the game, NECC’s Gabriel DosReis scored to make it 2-1 at halftime.
Rolston Ladd made the start in goal and recorded four saves for the win in his debut in net.
