Girls Lacrosse Central Catholic 9, Andover 8
Fiona Delisle scored three goals to power the Raider attack. Sarah Wilson and Meg Delorey added two apiece for 8-7 Central. Anne Cashman made nine saves for the win in net. With their second straight 9-8 loss, the Warriors all to 2-9 on the year.
Phillips 18, Loomis 3Sophomores Ashley Dimnaku and Emma Morrison each reached the 100-point mark for their Big Blue careers in the win. Dimnaku netted five goals, and Morrison had four goals and one assist.
Charlotte Dorman had three goals and both Aubrey Oracca and Scarlet Glass had two apiece for 15-0 Phillips.
Baseball
Bishop Guertin 6, Windham 1Windham outhit BG, 7-3, but couldn’t put the offense together, falling to 5-5 on the year. Ben Urquhart had two hits and drove in the Jags’ rurn. Josh Martino took the loss, allowing three earned runs over five innings.
Phillips sweeps doubleheaderThe Big Blue improved to 12-9 with wins of 3-1 and 8-0 over Deerfield. Grant McCubrey allowed a hit and a run in the first inning, then dominated Deerfield the rest of the way in the opening, settling for the one-hitter. Caleb Penn doubled and tripled, scoring one and driving in another.
Michael Doherty picked up in the nightcap where McCubrey left off, taking a no-hitter into the sixth to get the win. Windham’s Jacob Honor worked the scoreless seventh to ice it. Andover freshmen Grady Wright (hit, two RBIs) and Jedward Sanchez (1 hit, 1RBI) pitched in nicely. Will Mascena and Owen Callahan had two hits each.
Brooks 3, Governor’s 2 (8 innings)Kai Turner, Colin Killilea and Jonathan Stokes combined on the five-hit win without allowing an earned run. Andrew Martin and James Sullivan had multi-hit games for 4-10 Brooks.
Softball
Phillips 10, Lawrence Academy 2The Big Blue rolled to 16-0 behind the masterful mound work by Morgan McDonough.
Timberlane 16, Alvirne 2Audrina Cordeiro had a monster 3 for 3 day, driving a three-run homer and a double to drive in five. Sam Mooney went 3 for 5 with two RBIs. Sydney Battis (3 RBIs) singled and doubled. Rylee O’Connor struck out three in four innings of work for the win. Jayda Symes also fanned three in her two innings in the circle.
Boys Lacrosse
North Andover 9, Masco 3Freshman attack Ben Whitney had a hat trick and junior goaltender Aidan Smith made 15 saves to power the Knights. Tommy Farrell and Josh Kuberski each netted a pair of goals.
Winchester 14, Pinkerton 13Down five goals late, Pinkerton pushed unbeaten Mass. power Winchester to the limit before falling.
Matt Gormady had two goals and four assists, and Cade Johnston netted four Astro goals. Levi Weaver and Jackson Farrell had three points each, while Brendan Carney and Sam Leo anchored the defense. Dylan Stingel and Tyler Pinardi were strong again at the faceoff X.
