The Astros made a statement in the Granite State with a sweep over Salem. Pinkerton’s Maddie Andrade did it all, totaling 15 kills and 20 digs. Alongside Andrade, Mollie Jones had 16 service points and 3 aces.
Central Catholic 3, Andover 1
Andover took the first set, but the Raiders stormed back, winning three straight sets to take an MVC match over the Warriors. Julie Hall had a masterful 22 kills and 22 digs in the victory, reaching the 1000 career dig milestone. Madison Blanchet racked up an eye-popping 46 assists.
Methuen 3, Haverhill 1
Tied at one set apiece, the Rangers pulled away for a key MVC victory over a pesky Hillie team. For Haverhill, Olivia Lesswing racked up 32 assists, while Lucy Martinez had 11 kills and 15 digs.
Greater Lawrence Tech 3, Innovation Academy 0
The Reggies flex their muscles in a dominant victory over Innovation Academy on Tuesday night. Asmeily Anziani led her team with 17 service points and 9 assists. Mia Reynoso had 9 assists and 6 digs. Greater Lawrence is now 11-3 on the season, hosting Whittier Tech next on Thursday.
Exeter 3, Windham 0
The Jaguars fell in a sweep to Exeter on Tuesday. Riley Sawyer led Windham with 9 kills, 2 blocks, and 9 digs. Michaela Shoemaker added 7 kills and 7 digs.
Field Hockey
North Andover 2, Haverhill 0
Scoreless at the break, the Scarlet Knights pulled away with two second half goals. Kylie George scored the first North Andover goal, while Ceilli Brown had the dagger. Haverhill goalie Keira Drouin made 3 saves in the defeat. The Scarlet Knights are now 5-6-4 on the season.
Pinkerton 8, Nashua South 1
The Astros trounced over Nashua South on Wednesday. Pinkerton had five different goal scorers, with Cara Murray (3) and Gwen Lee (2) leading the way. The Astros have won five straight games.
Central Catholic 3, Andover 1
Tied at one apiece at halftime, the Raiders pulled away with two goals in the second half for their fifth MVC win of the year. Celinna Perham scored two goals, while Julia Smida added the other goal and an assist. Central is now 6-8-1 on the season.
Boys Cross Country
North Andover 22, Andover 37; North Andover 16, Central Catholic 46; Andover 26, Central Catholic 31
Andover runner Landon Zoss took first place outright (16:51), but it was all Scarlet Knights in a dominating showing in the tri-meet. Four North Andover runners placed in the top five, with sophomore Will Thomas leading the way in second place at 16:51. Central’s Noah Ruggiero led the Raiders in seventh place overall at 17:32.
Methuen 20, Tewksbury 41
With the victory over Tewksbury, the Rangers have been named the MVC Div. 2 champs. John Fantry, TJ O’Brien, and Anwar Mamdouh led Methuen in the win. The Rangers, now 7-3 on the year, head out to Westfield for the Dick Atkinson invitational next on Saturday.
Haverhill 19, Lawrence 40
Finishing 30 seconds faster than any other runner, Hillie Tyler Campbell impressed in first place with a time of 17:33. Lawrence’s Rafely Garcia finished in second at 18:07.
Girls Cross Country
Central Catholic 22, Andover 33; Central Catholic 21, North Andover 34; Andover 25, North Andover 30
In a high-stakes tri-meet, the Raiders were strong in a decisive victory, improving to 9-1 on the season. Central’s Kyla Breslin finished first among all runners with a time of 19:15. Andover’s Rose Kiley finished second at 20:13. Scarlet Knight junior Julia Kroon finished in fourth place at 21:08.
Haverhill 15, Dracut 50
The Hillies trounced Dracut in a dominating victory on the road. Haverhill runners took the top 3 spots in the race, with Emmalyn Proia (1st place, 19:59), Madison Howard (2nd, 20:49), and Megan Doody (3rd, 21:32) excelling.
Tewksbury 20, Methuen 36
The Rangers fell to an overpowering Tewksbury, dropping to a 2-8 record on the season. Ashley Machado ran a strong race, improving by 1:13 in the past four weeks.

Greater Lawrence Tech 4, KIPP Academy 1
Led by two goals from Anthony Rubim, the Reggies cruised over KIPP on Tuesday afternoon. Jonathan Mas and Illyass Gomorro also scored in the victory. Chris Tellez had two assists.
Dover 5, Pinkerton 1
Goalie Tyler Elliott made nine saves, but Pinkerton couldn’t withstand a potent Dover offensive attack on Tuesday. Hayden Marshall scored the lone Astro goal. Pinkerton travels to Nashua South on Saturday.

Timberlane 5 , Manchester Central/West 3
The Owls grabbed a significant victory on Tuesday night. Timberlane jumped out to a 2-0 lead, before pulling away in the second half. Rylee Donahue scored two goals in the win. Alli Harb added a goal and two assists.
Phillips Andover 2, Governors Academy 1
The Big Blue eked out an important win over Governors. Wylie Roosioen scored the first goal for Phillips, while Sarah Powers had the game winner. Phillips is now 7-3-2 on the season.
