NEWBURYPORT — YWCA of Greater Newburyport Executive Director Kate Slater and Ilene Harnch-Grady, YWCA health and fitness director, will visit “The Morning Show” on Thursday to discuss the upcoming annual MLK Jr. Commemoration and Day of Service on Jan. 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Newburyport City Hall.
Host Mary Jacobsen will interview Slater and Harnch-Grady about how they selected the speaker – activist, scholar and author Dr. Angel Jones, and what she will cover in a talk titled “Standing Strong: Our Beloved Community.”
Slater and Harnch-Grady will also talk about the YWCA’s past, present and future missions of advocacy for peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all, affordable housing, racial justice, and health and wellness, among others.
