LAWRENCE — City public schools hosted the opening of its annual District Art Show and Self Portrait Exhibition Wednesday evening, hosted at Lawrence Heritage State Park, with a theme of Dream Big.
More than 300 student artists from grades K-12 put their creations on display for a packed house of families and guests.
Artwork included a range of mediums and techniques from pencil drawings and paintings to sculpture and pottery, accompanied by an opening musical performance and live drawing exhibition.
More than 200 pieces of art in a variety of mediums from self-portraits to abstracts; pencil drawings to water colors decorated the gallery of the historical building.
The show will remain open at Lawrence Heritage State Park through this Sunday.
