AMESBURY — “Reporting from Lebanon: A Conversation with Journalist Paul Hefel-James” takes place July 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Amesbury Cultural Center, 37 Millyard.
Listen to an in-person conversation about reporting from the Middle East, the human cost of conflict, and where Lebanon is headed.
Hefel-James is a freelance journalist from Amesbury who is based in Beirut, Lebanon. He covers migration and refugee issues, the humanitarian sector and conflict across the Middle East.
His work has appeared in DAWN’s Democracy in Exile, New Internationalist, The Progressive and The New Arab, and he has also appeared on the International Risk Podcast.
The event will feature a moderated discussion led by journalist and author James Sullivan, followed by an audience Q&A.
Together, they will explore the realities of reporting from the Middle East, the challenges facing freelance journalists, and the human stories behind conflict and displacement.
