Crossville’s American Legion Post 163 recently honored Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Fields.
“We are pleased to formally announce that you have been selected as the ‘2025 Deputy of the Year’ for demonstrating outstanding community service. Your exceptional dedication to duty, unwavering commitment to community safety and consistent display of professionalism throughout the year have truly set you apart as a shining example of exemplary law enforcement service and are keeping in the highest traditions of law enforcement,” the American Legion Post 163 proclamation states.
Fields is characterized by Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox as “an outstanding team player” who models the appropriate behavior for other deputies to follow.
“Words such as respect, work ethic, experience, professionalism, knowledge and leadership are the values he lives by every day. Most importantly, he exemplifies the character expected of a deputy sheriff for Cumberland County, Tennessee — both on and off duty,” Cox said.
He continued in saying Fields demonstrates genuine care, professionalism and compassion in his work.
“He takes the initiative to engage the community members, listen to concerns and offer support beyond what is required of his position. In addition to his daily duties, Deputy Fields spearheads the department’s ‘Cops for Kids Christmas Project’ dedicating his time and energy each year to ensure local children and families experience joy and support during the holiday season,” Cox said.
“We are proud to have you as a member of our law enforcement community. Please accept this award as a testament to your hard work and dedication to the residents of Cumberland County, TN,” the American Legion Post 163 award states.
