ALTAMONT — Brianna Grunloh, Claire Boehm, Peyton Osteen, and Grace Nelson were honored prior to the game against Paris on Thursday night.
Altamont paid a special tribute to its four senior basketball players, with each one having their fingerprints on what has been a successful season for the Lady Indians so far.
Sitting at 22-5 entering Thursday, Altamont fell short of turning that into a 23-win season, losing to Paris 52-42.
The Lady Indians led 11-6 after the first quarter. Paris regained the advantage and took a 22-19 lead into the break. Altamont trailed 38-33 after the third, and Paris sealed the deal in the fourth after outscoring the Lady Indians 14-9 in the frame.
Nelson had 20 points for Altamont. Boehm had eight. Osteen had five. Grunloh and Kaylee Lurkins each had three. Skylie Klein had two, and Kylie Osteen had one.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Effingham 38, Mt. Zion 29
Effingham defeated Mt. Zion in an Apollo Conference contest, 38-29, at Mt. Zion High School.
Averie Wolfe had 13 points. Sidney Donaldson had seven. Alyssa Martin had six. Saige Althoff had five. Bria Beals had four, and Bella Austin had three for the Flaming Hearts.
Effingham led 13-5 at the end of the first quarter, 23-15 at halftime, and 29-22 at the end of the third. The Hearts outscored Mt. Zion 9-7 in the fourth.
Newton 59, Effingham (St. Anthony) 50
St. Anthony fell to Newton, 59-50, at Newton High School.
Nancy Ruholl finished with 20 points and scored the 1,000 point of her career in the contest.
Stacie Vonderheide had 20 points. Adysen Rios had six, and Addi Nuxoll had four for the Bulldogs.
Camryn Martin had 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Macy Barthelemy had 14 points and four rebounds. Karasyn Martin had 13 points and eight steals. Lilly Kessler had seven points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Elley Bennett had five points and four assists, and Izzy Meinhart had two points for the Lady Eagles.
St. Anthony led 13-12 after the first quarter. The game was tied at 25 at halftime. Newton led 34-33 at the end of the third and outscored the Bulldogs 25-17 in the fourth.
Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor 30, Casey-Westfield 27
Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor defeated Casey-Westfield, 30-27, at Stewardson-Strasburg High School.
Samantha Hayes had 11 points. Ella Kinkelaar had six. Kendra Hayes had five. Ellie Wittenberg had four. Morgan Mathis had three, and Katelyn VonBehrens had one for the Hatchets.
WSS led 15-8 after the first quarter and 17-10 at halftime. Casey-Westfield led 25-21 at the end of the third. The Hatchets outscored Casey 9-2 in the fourth.
Arcola 59, Neoga 53
Neoga fell to Arcola, 59-53, at Neoga High School.
Brynn Richards had 22 points. Haylee Campbell had 12. Atalie Osborn had six. Gracie Eaton and Allison Sampson had five each, and Natalie O’Dell had three for the Indians.
Neoga trailed 15-12 after the first quarter, 23-20 at halftime, and 44-30 at the end of the third. The Indians outscored Arcola 23-15 in the fourth.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 54, Ramsey 32
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City defeated Ramsey in an Egyptian Illini Conference contest, 54-32, at Cowden-Herrick High School.
Ruby Stuckemeyer had 13 points. Macee Rodman had 11. Haley Doty had seven. Koda Coleman had six. Baya Fingo had five. Karlee Smith had four. Ines Saez and Ellie Miller had three each, and Marissa Summers had two for the Bobcats.
CHBC led 23-7 after the first quarter, 36-20 at halftime, and 46-21 at the end of the third. They were outscored 11-8 in the fourth.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Dieterich 72, Hume (Shiloh)/Kansas-Oakland 42
Dieterich defeated Tri-County, 72-42, at Dieterich High School.
Caleb Gephart had 17 points. Lucas Westendorf had 16. Landen Keck had nine. Trevor Niemerg had seven. Jackson Holste had six. Tanner Will and Blake Niemerg had four each. Brock Niemerg, Andrew Hall, and John Holste had two each, and Luke Wente, Kaden Iffert, and Tanner Niemerg had two each for the Movin Maroons.
Dieterich led 21-9 after the first quarter, 41-14 at halftime, and 62-30 at the end of the third. Tri-County outscored the hosts 12-10 in the fourth.
