CUMBERLAND — Allegany racked up 12 hits and Fort Hill issued 11 free passes, as the Campers rolled to a 17-1 city rout in five innings Thursday.
Fort Hill (0-1) hung around trailing the defending area champs 3-0 entering the fourth, but that’s when Allegany (1-0) plated 12 to blow the game open.
UMBC signee Riley Gallagher went 2 for 4 with a double, four runs batted in and three runs scored. Kylie Hook, Makenzie Monahan and Penn State signee Abi Britton drove in three runs each, and Britton, Hook and Jordyn Sneathen had multi-hit games.
Britton, the reigning Player of the Year, struck out all nine batters she faced before getting pulled for Sneathen, who allowed a run on two hits over the final two frames of work.
MaeLeigh Plummer took the loss for Fort Hill in the circle. Tatum Bishop doubled and drove in Fort Hill’s lone run.
Fort Hill hosts Northern on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Allegany is at Keyser (2-2) on Friday at 6 p.m.
Keyser 12 Tucker County 2
KEYSER, W.Va. — Freshman Bibs Felton homered and doubled, and Keyser took advantage of five Tucker County errors to rout the Mountain Lions in five innings on Wednesday.
The Golden Tornado (2-2) scored two runs in the first, five in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth to win via run rule.
Leighton Johnson picked up the win in the circle, allowing two runs on two hits in four innings of work with five strikeouts and six walks. Rylee Mangold struck out the side in the fifth.
Ivy Bromhol joined Felton with a multi-hit game with a pair of singles and drove in two runs to equal Mangold for a Keyser-high.
Ava Shaffer took the loss for Tucker County in the circle. Brianna Gooden and Makenna Evans notched Tucker County’s lone two base hits — both singles.
Keyser hosts Allegany on Friday at 6 p.m.
