WYE MILLS — After winning its first game of the season on Wednesday, Allegany College was unable to make it two in a row, falling 72-50 to Chesapeake on Friday.
The Trojans (1-7, 1-3 NJCAA Region 20) trailed the Skipjacks (1-2, 1-2 Region 20) 20-7 after one quarter, 36-22 at halftime and 55-41 after three quarters.
“Proud of our girls who played hard for 40 minutes in a pretty aggressive battle against Chesapeake who is always well coached,” ACM head coach LaRae Allen said.
Maylee Regan led Allegany with 13 points, adding four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
Kiara Hill and Saniya Brown each scored 10 points with Brown also adding three steals, two rebounds and two assists.
Kaylee Queery scored eight points with 10 rebounds and four steals.
Kris Auguste scored a game-high 16 points for Chesapeake with 10 in the first half.
Arianna Woodside finished with 14 points and Shenell White added 11.
The Trojans host Garrett (3-0, 1-0 Region 20) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
“We have more to continue to get better with, but every once in a while you play a game where you lose yet positive things happen,” Allen said.
